At Baby Premier we understand many of the anxieties and frustrations that women experience throughout
their pregnancy. We know pregnancy is a very special time for every woman and we believe that a 4D
ultrasound scan is of benefit to both the mother and family in being able to relate to your baby in such
a personal way before it is born. Using the latest technology, 4D ultrasound scanning equipment, we aim to
help ease any concerns you may have during your pregnancy, whilst sharing with you some of the miracles
of your baby’s development. We can capture many precious moving images including waving, yawning,
smiling, kicking, arm stretches and sleeping.
Why Baby Premier?
Baby Premier is currently the only private independent imaging provider that has gained accreditation by the Care Quality Commission, an 18 month process to gain. All of our staff are covered by the Medical Defence Union (MDU), the UK's leading medical defence organisation which provides
medico-legal advice and assistance and professional indemnity. All pregnancy scans are optional, not just ones provided by Baby Premier but also scans offered by your local NHS hospital. The protocols Baby Premier use for our ultrasound scans have never been shown to cause harm to either mother or baby. The study of ultrasound safety continues to be reviewed by healthcare bodies both in the UK and internationally and we monitor this subject very closely.
What is a 4D baby scan?
Baby Premier’s 4D ultrasound baby scan gives you a unique opportunity to bond with your unborn baby during pregnancy. We perform all 4D scans using the latest 4D GE Healthcare ultrasound machines - a world
leader in 2D, 3D and 4D ultrasound scanning systems. All our ultrasound scanners generate real-time moving
images of your baby in the womb. These images can be made at anytime during your pregnancy, however the
more animated facial images and facial movements are generally found between the 26 – 32 week period of
your pregnancy (24 - 28 weeks for twins). Your baby will have put on weight and there is still enough space in the womb for your
baby to move around, these images will be able to be taken from a more active baby. We would therefore
recommend your 4D scan is performed during this 26 – 32 week period of your pregnancy to secure the best possible image quality (24 - 28 weeks for twins).
Mother and Baby Bonding
Your Pregnancy is special to us too, seeing is believing... you know you have a baby on the way, but it is still
hard to believe. Just imagine how wonderfully bonded you would feel if you could actually see your baby.
Well now you do not have to imagine with a Baby Premier 4D scan you really can see your unborn baby.
The bonding benefit of traditional 2D ultrasound scanning has long been appreciated, however with the use
of 4D ultrasound technology, it is now possible to visualise the appearance of your baby in 3D reinforcing the
bonding experience even further. The 4D ultrasound scan generates real time like images of your unborn baby
in the womb which you will see immediately.
Post scan care If you become concerned about any aspect of your Baby Premier scan or the recordings and pictures you have had, please discuss this with our sonographer whilst at our clinic. Our sonographers and health care professionals will discuss any concerns that you may have. Very rarely, there may be a problem that is totally unexpected and we are the bearers of bad news. We will ensure you have the time, support and a plan of care arranged. All of the Baby Premier our ultrasound scans are undertaken with care and attention to you and your family.
